NASSSER AL HUZAYMI

Originally from Basra, Iraq, in the early 1970s Nasser found his calling in Juhayman's group's reformist ideas and became one of the earliest members of the "brethren". But when Juhayman put the Mahdi at the center of the Mecca operation and predicted that he and his men were just at the beginning of a chain of events that would unleash ths apocalypse. Nasser separated from the group, several months before the takeover.

In the early 2000s, Nasser was the first to publish a series of articles about the siege in "Al Riyadh", the Saudi equivalent of the New York Times, where he explained what happened in 1979 but also distanced himself from Juhayman's ideology.
